h-BN: a key material for performance enhancement of composite ceramic materials

As an advanced ceramic material, hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) has a broad application prospect due to its excellent properties. BN-ZrO2 and BN-ZrO2-SiC composite ceramics, on the other hand, combine the refractoriness and wear resistance of zirconia with the non-infiltrability of molten metal of boron nitride, and are widely used in scenarios where they come into contact with molten metal, and have been fabricated into products such as horizontal continuous casting separator rings, double-roll casting side sealing plates, and powder metal atomizing nozzles;

Four products are available with crystalline particle sizes between 1-5 μm and powder particle sizes D50 between 4 μm and 20 μm.

Among them, PBN700 series and PBN500 series h-BN products produced by BN(china) Technology have high purity, good crystallinity and very low C content. PBN700 series products have good feedback in the use of pure boron nitride ceramics; PBN500 series products are also successfully applied in boron nitride composite ceramics.

Due to the h-BN in 1500 ℃ above the beginning of signs of sintering, sintering is more difficult, easy to form a card room structure, densification difficulties, pure h-BN ceramics in the choice of powder particle size will generally choose a smaller size of the product in order to improve the sintering activity, the other h-BN products according to the user's specific use of the choice of the appropriate size of the powder.
